How do you feel about social media? Some parents are calm and collected while others are frantic and suspicious. I have to admit that with my oldest child being 22 and my youngest 10, I have been on both sides of the spectrum. No matter where you are now on that spectrum and no matter where I might be, one thing I know is that we have to be informed. I know very little when it comes to what is out there on the Internet. My oldest children talk about Snapchat and Vines, but I really don't understand either one. Do you? The best advice I can give you when it comes to social media and your children is to speak Truth into your children every chance you can. Deuteronomy 6:4-7 says, "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." The Truth of God is far greater and more powerful than the truth of the Internet. Continually point your children to God and trust in Him. Remember what Paul tells us in I John 4:4. "Little children, you are from God and have overcome them [false spirits], for He who is in you is greater than he that is in the world."
